Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 12 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Frozen veggie burgers: Any brand or style (black bean, mixed veg, quinoa, soy-based).
  • Oil spray (optional): Avocado or olive oil spray for extra browning.
  • Seasonings (optional): Salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, or your favorite spice blend.
  • Buns or lettuce wraps: Toasted buns, whole-grain rolls, or butter lettuce for a lighter option.
  • Toppings: Sliced tomato, red onion, avocado, pickles, lettuce, vegan or regular cheese, ketchup, mustard, or a quick sauce.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Preheating helps the surface brown faster.
  • Prep the patties: Remove the frozen veggie burgers from the package. No need to thaw. Lightly mist both sides with oil if you want extra crispness. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and your favorite seasonings.
  • Arrange in the basket: Place patties in a single layer with space between them. Don’t stack. If your basket is small, cook in batches.
  • Air fry the first side: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes. The edges should start to brown.
  • Flip and finish: Turn the patties and cook another 5–7 minutes. Total time is usually 11–15 minutes, depending on thickness and brand.
  • Optional cheese melt: If using cheese, add a slice during the last 1–2 minutes so it melts without overcooking the patty.
  • Toast buns (optional): Remove burgers, then add split buns to the basket for 1–2 minutes until lightly crisp.
  • Assemble and serve: Add your toppings and sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
