Air Fryer Frozen Popcorn Chicken - Crispy, Quick, and Foolproof

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Frozen popcorn chicken (any brand you like)
  • Cooking spray or oil mister (optional, for extra crispness)
  • Seasonings (optional): garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, cayenne
  • Dipping sauces: ranch, honey mustard, barbecue, buffalo sauce, or ketchup
  • Optional sides: coleslaw, salad greens, veggie sticks, roasted veggies, or fries

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the coating crisp up right away.
  • Lightly spray the basket with cooking oil if your air fryer tends to stick. This is optional but helpful.
  • Add the frozen popcorn chicken in a single layer. Don’t thaw. Avoid overcrowding—air needs space to circulate.
  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. If the bites are larger or very packed, you may need 11–12 minutes.
  • Check for crispness and temperature. The coating should be golden and crunchy, and the internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  • Season right after cooking if desired. A quick sprinkle of garlic powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt sticks best when hot.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dips and sides. For a meal, pair with a salad or steamed veggies to balance things out.
