Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Tenders - Crispy, Quick, and Foolproof

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Frozen breaded chicken tenders: Any brand you like. Standard or panko breading both work well.
  • Cooking spray (optional): Helps boost browning, especially on lighter coatings.
  • Seasonings (optional): Garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, lemon pepper, or a pinch of cayenne for extra kick.
  • Dipping sauces: Ranch, honey mustard, barbecue, buffalo, ketchup, or a smoky mayo.
  • Air fryer: Basket-style or oven-style both work.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Preheating helps the breading crisp up right away.
  • Arrange the tenders in a single layer in the basket. Leave space between them so air can circulate. Don’t stack.
  • Optional: Lightly mist the tops with cooking spray and sprinkle on extra seasonings if desired.
  • Air fry for 10–14 minutes total, flipping halfway. Start checking at the 10-minute mark.
  • Check doneness: The exterior should be golden and crisp. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). Thicker tenders may need another 2–3 minutes.
  • Rest for 2 minutes to let the crust set. Serve hot with sauces and sides.
